Avocado Lime Cups
Avocado Lime Cups turn guacamole into a fresh little party bite: creamy, chunky, bright, and ready for chips. 🥑✨
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados, just soft but not brown
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
- 1 small jalapeno, seeded if you want less heat, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro, plus small leaves for topping
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 12-16 sturdy tortilla chips
- 8 small lime wedges
- Optional: diced cherry tomato, cotija, chili flakes, or hot sauce
Method
- Halve, pit, and scoop the avocados into a bowl. Add lime juice, lime zest, kosher salt, and garlic powder.
- Mash with a fork until creamy in places but still chunky. Stop before it becomes fully smooth; the cups look and taste better with texture.
- Fold in red onion, jalapeno, and cilantro. Taste and adjust with more lime or salt until the flavor is bright.
- Spoon the avocado mixture into 12-16 mini cups, small bowls, or shot glasses. Tap each cup gently so the filling settles without looking compressed.
- Chill for 10-20 minutes if the avocado is very soft. Add one sturdy tortilla chip, a lime wedge, cilantro, and optional toppings right before serving.
